The Milestones Student Edition is the core of the program.

Each book and its wealth of accompanying materials are color-coded for easy reference.

Book A and its components have green covers, Book B, red, and Book C, purple.

Each book is organized in exactly the same way, so that both teacher and student quickly become accustomed to using the material efficiently and effectively.

There are six Units consisting of two Chapters. Each Chapter contains two readings: one literary and one content-based.

At the end of each Unit, the Apply and Extend section provides Workshops, Projects and Independent Reading in which students "apply and extend" their learning.

Culminating the Unit is an Assessment tool, Milestones to Achievement, which provides practice for formal and standardized assessments.
