Listen to Audio

In real-world listening situations, both in the native language and other languages, people listen not for specific words, but for the general topic and the information that they need. Students should be made aware that they do not need to understand every word they hear in order to complete a listening task in World Link-- or to deal successfully with a real-life listening encounter in English.

Teaching Tip

  • Students do not need to understand every word they hear in order to complete a listening task in World Link.
