Lessons A and B of each World Link unit contain
a recorded listening activity. These listening tasks teach strategies for use
in real-life situations. The situation is presented in context, and students
are set a specific task before they listen. Students work at least twice with
each passage. The first time, they usually listen for general meaning, and the
second time they listen for more specific details. After the activity, a follow-up
discussion allows students to personalize the information they have just heard.
