Building fluency in a language means developing the
ability to use its vocabulary and structures to express your own ideas. This
is a central focus of World Link.
Lessons A and B of each unit conclude with a Communication
section that brings together the vocabulary, structures, and topic of the lesson
in a step-by-step, interactive task. This provides natural, integrated fluency
practice review of the material covered, and challenges students to use it in
new situations.
The Communication sections begin with a warm-up
that presents the task and reviews vocabulary and language needed to complete
it. Students consider and prepare what they will say. Finally, a role play,
pair work, or group work activity gives them free practice in communicating
around the theme of the lesson.
