How to obtain college credit from National-Louis University

The National-Louis University is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools. National College of Education meets all twenty standards of the National Council for the Accreditation of Teacher Education.

These professional development courses are not part of a degree program but are primarily used for professional advancement. Participants should seek approval of appropriate school district officials before enrolling in these courses to satisfy any state credentials or local school district requirements.

Prior to applying this graduate credit to a degree program at NLU, approval is necessary from a NLU advisor.

  1. Print out and complete the National-Louis University Registration form: http://www.nl.edu/oar/registration.cfm#Registration_Forms Click on "Graduate On-Campus Registration Form." Print out the graduate registration and credit card authorization form. Please complete the NLU graduate registration form in its entirety, including the course number, CRN, title and number of semester hours of the selected course according to the information below:

  • Mail the NLU Graduate Registration form with your payment of $120 per semester hour ($240) to National-Louis University, Registrar’s Office, 1000 Capitol Drive, Wheeling, IL 60090-7201. If payment is made with a credit card, the completed graduate registration form and credit card authorization form may be faxed to the registrar at 847-465-4746. Please note that each of the courses listed above are 2 semester hours, making the total tuition amount $240 per course.
  • Return to http://eltadvantage.heinle.com/ and enroll in the ELT Advantage course.
  • Complete the course and take the final exam.
  • View grades and request a transcript from National Louis University, by logging onto http://my.nl.edu portal. Every student who registers at NLU is provided with an e-mail account. After logging into the portal by following the username and password instructions perform the following:
    • On the main page of your account, select the "MY SERVICES" tab at the top.
    • On the ACADEMIC SERVICES page, select STUDENT.
    • On the STUDENT page, select STUDENT RECORDS.
    • On the STUDENT RECORDS page, select FINAL GRADES.
